Rotation, attendance and certificates from one source of truth
Emirates National Schools, 2025 to now

TCC operations platform

A vocational programme for 2,900 students had no system linking students to the courses they had actually taken. I built one: a single rotation feeding attendance, room maps and end-of-year certification, now issuing 1,500 to 2,000 certificates a year.

What brokeGroup transfers were corrupting records. I replaced names and row positions with a surrogate student key and dated enrolment rows, so history survives every move.

Live on funded capital
Systematic trading, 2026 to now

Lightning

A research bench and execution runtime in Python. Every strategy is pre-registered, tested out of sample with look-ahead controls, and retired when it fails. A stateless execution daemon trades live on a VPS.

What brokeThe first design ran AI-generated strategies in a container sandbox. I removed the need for it: the model emits only schema-validated JSON, never code, so untrusted code never exists.

Microgrids, 2025 to now

Microgrids and Bifrost

Decentralised energy infrastructure with embedded AI: signed edge telemetry, a two-stage validation oracle, and a sodium-sulfur cell architecture built from recycled industrial feedstocks. Two USPTO provisional filings.

What brokeUnsigned telemetry can be spoofed. Node Zero went through three hardware revisions to put a secure element on the board, so every packet is signed at source.

Self-funded, 2020 to 2022

Distributed compute cluster

I designed, built and ran a 30kW continuous-load cluster: electrical distribution and circuit sizing, heat rejection, network segmentation and uptime monitoring across the fleet.

What it led toThe cost of keeping that load running became the question Microgrids sets out to answer. Waste-heat recovery appears in the resulting patent filing.

How I work.

Root cause, then mechanism.

A patch fixes one failure. A verification gate stops the whole class of failure from coming back. I run problems down until I find the second kind.

Decide on evidence.

Hypotheses get written down before they're tested and retired when the data turns against them. That holds in markets, and in timetables.

Build it so others can run it.

Single sources of truth, runbooks and teams who know the system. The goal is an operation that keeps running when I'm not in the room.

  1. 2014 to 2023

    Design teacher, Institute of Applied Technology

    Taught CAD and industrial design, standardised a design curriculum across a national school network, and trained instructors across two campuses.

  2. 2015 to now

    Founder of four ventures

    BlueBrain, an education platform serving 2,000+ users; GeekArts, a profitable product business; Easy Surf; and Microgrids Global.

  3. 2020 to 2023

    Digital Video Lead

    Ran the shift to remote delivery across every subject department and multiple campuses: several hundred hours of lessons and the platform they ran on.

  4. 2023 to 2025

    Lead Career Instructor, Media, Emirates National Schools

    Built the Media Technology and Design workshop from an empty room: equipment, curriculum and live broadcast teaching.

  5. 2025 to now

    Program Coordinator, Operations and Systems, TCC
